2009 version is way less polished then finchers. Most scenes have way too much light in them. 2009 doesn’t have nearly the same amount of tension and atmosphere as finchers. Lastly 2009 characters were casted terribly besides rapace.

Fun fact: the director said its not a remake of forrest gump but this side by side confirms otherwise

I love how in the original the witches look so frumpy, ordinary, everyday, with a few cute enough to date that you can imagine how they'd lure kids to their doom so easily. In the remake they look so oddly high-maintenance, even if pretty, that they're offputting even at first glance.

Really the biggest difference is Chiren's hair colour 😂 A great adaptation. Not quite as good as the original manga or OVA, but still remarkable.

When Fellowship came out Ralph Bakshi‘s Movie was 23 Years old. Now Peter Jackson‘s Version is also 23 years old.

1972 looks like vomit.

I Do love the mystery of 1974 version but the enchanted visuals that borderlines a fairytale like atmosphere for the 2013 made it my favorite of the two.

I would recommend watching the 1974 version if you have read the book and have the patience to watch the whole movie. It captures the emotions in every important scene, especially the ending bit that the newer movie didn't include, probably due to run time. My biggest problem about the 2013 version was that it focused more on the grand set design and costumes, and made the characters a little too dull even if that was the point. I would watch the newer movie if you want a basic recap of the story that isn't as dragged out as the 1974 version.

1990 was better in any field + everyone was white, like in the book. Fed up with them appropriating OUR stories by putting blacks in them.

Both movies have a scene where a steward is scolding the passengers for damaging property in third class as they're escaping. Both movies have a child scared, crying, and lost their mother. A well-suited man picks them up. However, difference is in ANTR, the suited man was a Steward and was kind to the child trying to protect the child. Both died. Titanic had Cal using the child to get on a lifeboat. Both survived.

I’ll come out and say it - I really like the remake in all its lurid colour-saturated glory. Vince Vaughn was _slightly_ miscast but nor did he do too badly either . . .

I went to this on 06/06/06 at screen 6. I hated the remake but loved the warm evening in London 🤭

these two productions are very rare example of difference between novelist ( King ) and a real director ( Kubrick ). The novel itself has very strong story with wonderful scary details, however these details should remain in book. Because when you try to take these details and shoot in movie, they seem funny. So novelist wrote one of the best horror novels, and director produced one of the best horror movie. Long story shorts, King's version of movie seems funny while his book is very scary.

Oh my god! What a beautiful video? The 1958 movie is still a superb film in its own right considering the fact that it was made when all the computer graphics and trickery were not available. However James Cameron also made a masterpiece with his idea and vision of a once in a lifetime event that will be remembered forever. Thanks for the super video compilation.
